Bipolar Disorder Family Section

"When we protect people, When we do things for them, When we do not expect them to be responsible for themselves, We teach them to feel and act dependent and powerless." Robert Stenstrud & Kay Stenstrud.

The bipolar disorder is hard on families due to the mood swings their loved one experiences. Bipolars can go from feeling wildly out of control and rage and the next day feel extremely depressed. If you are a family or loved one of someone with the BP, chances are you are hurting and have come here to find information and peace for yourself. There is so much attention focused on your loved one that many times you forget you are important too and deserve a peaceful and happy existence.

Families need support too and that is why I have provided some additional resources for families on the Bipolar Disorder Sanctuary.

Articles: (I wrote these articles for families of people with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However much of the behavior your loved one displays is very much like someone with the BPD. Hopefully you will gain something from these articles.
