Q. I have two borderline patients at the time being. One just came in my door. Very bad, Gramophone record syndrome, had been on Prozac and now had just started on Surmontil. A doctor had given the medicine to the parents to give to the 27 year old woman who appear like a 13 or 2 year old girl without her being his client. Do you think it is a good medicine for Borderline disorder, because I do not. I prefer Hypericum, with, possibly, Angelica.

A. There is not enough data to tell what is the best thing to do. There is no data to support the use of Surmontil. There is also no data to support the use of hypericum or angelical. I like to stick to things that have been shown to help. All else is conjecture, and this is not only unfair to the patient, it is unethical.
