Q. . I am currently in counseling for depression and family issues from my child hood. I am currently taking Prozac, plus I am out of work on a shoulder injury. I seem to have chronic pain. Over the weekend I found a book about Tension Myositis Syndrome, are you familiar with this condition and would it have anything to do with borderline personality disorder?

  A. Borderlines have a large incidence of Fibromyalgia. Aches in the muscles and joints. Fibromyalgia is a rheumatological disorder, and has proven amenable to Prozac, Zoloft, Effexor, Serzone, and even the TCAs. I found that if you are taking Prozac, 80 mg/day of Prozac worked best if you have Fibromyalgia. I assume tension myositis is the same thing as Fibromyalgia.
