Q. I was once a professional. at 40 due to labile moods and "acting out" I became unemployed. the medical findings said I had "a right sub-cortical brain dysfunction" what is that? I have now noticed a problem with memory uptake form short term to long term. could this be caused by 17 med changes in 3 yrs? is this reversible? have read exhaustively for answers. they are all conflicting. being treated for bpd, did, ptsd, ocd.this is a nightmare ,can you shed some light here? read all the info here. very good. really enjoyed the clinical explanation. I like your sense of humor and direction. you're doing a wonderful service.

  A. Not much clinical data. I have no idea what the right cortical reference is all about. Someone had to diagnose you that way for your disability, so I would ask the doctor that made the diagnosis what it is based upon.

As far as all the different diagnoses, you probably have or have had all of these diagnoses at some point or another of your treatment. They are all symptoms of the same illness. Correct treatment should alleviate or reduce most of these symptoms. The memory decrease is part of the illness, and probably not medication related. It should resolve with proper treatment.
