  Q. I am currently trying to conceive. I wanted to know if Zoloft and Klonopin are safe to take after I conceive? I stopped taking them cause I feared I would harm the child when I was pregnant. I have BPD and its hard to not be on them. Can I get back on safely to me and my future child?

  A. Both drugs are class C for pregnancy. Basically, we have done no studies, and use them only "when medically appropriate based on circumstances." I am comfortable with the Zoloft during pregnancy, but you should review it with your doctor. Prozac is a Class B, and is known to be a bit safer based on studies (it is the only one that did a study).
