Q. My therapist states that I no longer have borderline personality disorder according to the DSM but I still have Bipolar II disorder. What is the difference?

A. Borderline personality disorder is a personality disorder wherein the primary problem centers around one's style of relating to and communicating with other people. Bipolar II is a mood disorder wherein the primary problem is the instability and fluctuating mood states.
